About the U-Pass
The U-Pass Program was launched by your UASU in 2007 along with the Graduate Students' Association and the Student Association of Macewan University (SAMU). The Program helps students save money on transit fees while increasing their access to Edmonton and its neighbouring municipalities.
We continue to negotiate the flat rate of the U-Pass to protect students from inflationary increases.
Your U-Pass is integrated with the Arc Card fare system for convenient access to transit to and from campus.

Arc Card Information for Students
- Get your Arc card - Arc Cards can be purchased at participating retailers listed on the myarc.ca website, including at SUBmart in the Students' Union Building. You can also purchase in all LRT transit centres, and online (but be aware of mailing times).
- Register your card on the U-Pass App.
- Tap on and off transit!
You do NOT need to pick up a new Arc Card if you already have one - the same card will be functional as long as you are being assessed for and paying the U-Pass fee on Bear Tracks.
U-Pass Eligibility
If you have not been assessed the U-Pass fee but believe you meet the criteria to receive one, you may opt-in to the fee using the Service Request Form on the Office of the Registrar's website.

About the Arc Fare System
The Edmonton Transit System (ETS) and surrounding municipal transit systems adopted the Arc Fare system starting in 2021. Find out more about the Arc fare system, how it works, and where to use it on the MyArc website.
